Bio

Breaching genre barriers without so much as a backward glance, Kabob-o-Taj creates a diverse musical landscape sculpted through passion, improvisation and an unbreakable bedrock of musical understanding. With a unique blend of rock, reggae, funk, jazz, metal, and even classical influences, they produce an experimental sound that straddles a line between mellow and maniacal.

With an armada of sounds and influences, Kabob-o-Taj brings energetic and dynamic shows to the DC/Baltimore area. While at times improvisational, their live sets are methodically arranged and pull the audience in by stimulating their interest and curiosity with the question, “What could possibly happen next?”

Some of their eclectic style comes from their rich background as students of music. They originally formed through a series of jam sessions in 2007, while Wes (vocals), Ryan (guitar) and Rob (drums) were earning their degrees in Composition and Jazz Studies. They later added Jason (bass), who introduced his years of experience performing with several funk and rock bands. Their technique, knowledge, and infinite passion for music have led to the unstoppable force that is Kabob-o-Taj.
